我们知道，获得要求的精度，并且长期保持精度不变是滚珠丝杠工艺工作的根本出发点。所以正确选用材料，并施以适当的热处理，可使丝杠具有足够的耐磨性和稳定性。滚珠丝杠的工作表面还需要零受接触应力，故其材料应能保证获得HRC58～62的高硬度，以防止由于表面硬度降低而导致承载能力下降。目前，我们广泛采用的材质为Gcr15轴承钢，是业内普遍认为的适合制作滚珠丝杠的材质。
